Tan Son Nhat International Airport (TIA) is the largest international airport in Vietnam, covering an area of 850 hectares and serving tens of millions of passengers every year. With increasing needs for strict security and personnel control, TIA sought an effective workforce management solution and chose FaceX — VTI’s intelligent facial recognition management system — using facial recognition devices to address this challenge.
Customer’s Requirements
1. Attendance tracking for 2,300–2,400 employees
Working across 3 shifts, 24/7, using multiple authentication methods:
- Facial recognition
- QR code scanning
- GPS-based check-in via mobile app (restricted to specific coordinates and allowed radius)
2. Real-time monitoring interface
A display system showing actual captured facial images along with voice notifications for successful/unsuccessful verification.
3. Data export & reporting
Attendance data must be exportable in Excel format with monthly reports.
VTI’s Implementation Plan
Phase 1
- Install FaceX devices at 14 locations
- Deploy multi-shift attendance management for all airport personnel on both web and mobile platforms (with standard features)
Phase 2
Roll out additional authentication and access-control methods at high-security zones, including mobile app GPS restrictions:
- QR code scanning
- GPS-based mobile check-in at designated coordinate zones
- Add display screens showing real-time facial images and voice confirmations for successful/failed verification
